Looking for a house with privacy? Sunny nice back garden with pool well, protected from neighbour's gawks? You would like to invest in real estate, need advice? You want to rent a house to share with like-minded with people in Cyprus?
Cyprus as a location for your housing dream has a lots of advantages; sunny weather, lower taxes, somewhat affordable prices as compared other places. However: the house search requires a lot of CAUTION.
Too many people have been screwed by builders, estate agents and advocates in the past, and the legal system does not proof to be efficient. Buying in North Cyprus has it's own pitfalls - though certainly possible if you take a well-informed decision.
What is often overlooked is the bad building quality of most houses in Cyprus, especially as regards to insulation. A bad housing choice means living with thick pullovers or bearing high heating cost in the winter. The choice of properties is limited; often holiday houses are built often side-by-side, with a pool toward the street side as a show-off. Property pictures are often misleading.
