textile-less freedom on Aphrodite's island

We are a group of people both from the southern and the northern part of Cyprus.

Primarily, we wish to bring people together for events and activities at home and garden in private properties as well as on remote beaches. Also to connect residents from the island with travellers so that they all can enjoy time without textiles in their holidays. Particularly, we aim to provide an encouraging environment for first-timers to get out of their “comfort zone”.

So why? It's about practicality. It's about comfort & freedom, especially in a hot climate such as in Cyprus. No tan lines, no wet textiles. It's about feeling water and wind overall on your body, connecting to nature.

To make it clear: Nekkid Cyprus is not about sex. A quote attributed to Kurt Tucholsky puts it nicely: “To associate a nude body always with the concept of eroticism, is about as intelligent, as to think always of eating in context with the mouth”. Just act relaxed and act normal, the same as you would do in any comparable clothed situation!

Should be naturist, should it be nudist? Each and every term has its supporters and its tradition. We decided to go beyond. The term nekkid may carry a mischevious, cheeky undertone. A fun way of being naked. Beyond ideology. Freeing ourselves from conservative social conventions. A positive stance that's what we are advocating!
